On the third Sunday evening of each month the West Dartmoor Mission Community conduct an evening service at 6 pm in St Paul’s Yelverton. On 17 July this will take the form of a Choral Evensong with Rev Preb Nick Shutt and the Benefice Choir singing Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer.

The choir have been rehearsing a new work, the setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, written for them by Andrew Wilson a well-known local musician and prolific talented composer. Andrew has won international acclaim and won awards all over the world for his compositions. He will attend one of the choir’s rehearsals in July and also the Evensong.

Also in the Evensong two of the hymns have been written by Nick, who has written the words of many hymns, one of which the music has been written by his son Chris Shutt. We do hope you will support this service and meet the composers.
