Everyone was delighted to welcome The Stannary Brass Band to St Mary’s Church Walkhampton for a concert to support Children’s Hospice South West on Saturday 19th September 2015. A packed church was treated to a programme featuring a selection of tunes arranged for brass in the first half of the concert, and our own “mini last night of the Proms” in the second half. The Musical Director Peter Jones provided insights into each piece as the concert unfolded:
Eleanor Eastman was the soloist for the specially commissioned piece A Special Place by Goff Richards, a piece written for CHSW:
A packed church enjoyed refreshments during the interval. The church was bedecked with Union Flags to celebrate Her Majesty, the Queen’s long reign:
