Bishop Nick’s Visit…Day two…

We enjoyed a “Nosh” Service this morning at St Mary’s Walkhampton. Nearly 100 people joined the worship as the West End re-ordering project was dedicated by +Nick.

+Nick then sped off the Sampford Spiney for a picnic lunch and to dedicate the new bell table. He signed the visitors’ book and spend some time talking with members of the congregation.

The afternoon’s service at St Paul’s Yelverton saw four candidates for confirmation. It was a joyful service which included the choir singing an anthem by John Rutter.
Inevitably, following the service there was a cream tea in which the Bishop was weighed. His weight gain over the two days he had been with us was 4.4kgs! He presented Sheila Stacey with a packet of quality biscuits as being the person closest to guessing his weight gain! – but even Sheila under-estimated the amount by more than 1kg.
